Zoely Velez, MOT, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Zoely is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Master of Occupational Therapy program in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Prior to this, she attended the University of Florida where she received a Bachelor of Health Science degree. After spending several years away from Tampa Bay after high school to pursue both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, Zoely came back to the area in 2009 in order to complete her pediatric Level II clinical internship here at Children’s Choice. Having valued her experience very much, Zoely decided to stay on board and currently provides services to children in both the clinic and school settings.

Zoely has had the opportunity to work with various populations during her clinical experiences, including geriatrics, mental health, and physical disabilities. Although she states that she enjoys working with all age ranges, she finds working with children especially rewarding, and believes “there is truly nothing more special than looking at the world through a child’s eyes.”

Zoely’s interests include traveling, spending time with friends and family, and Gator sports! Her past research work includes evidence-based promotion of occupational therapy and increasing recognition of occupational therapy among colleagues and consumers.
